I’ve been trying to do alphas for a while and i mess them up every time dose anyone have some tips?

watch tutorials also do the flat alpha technique its much easier, also try not to pull your strings super tight or else it'll clumpy up and come out messy

I would recommend watching Kinsey B’s video on alphas- https://youtu.be/ksuB0I3nLTU I would also advise you to count your base strings several times before you start, and then again after the first row or so have been knotted. My sister was making a 20 string alpha and was 10 rows in when we realized we were one string short. I would also check out a video on the straight edge technique, I find the alpha to look nicer. To add onto that using good string is helpful. Making alphas is a lot of back and forth, so I like to use Craft Cord by Loops and Threads. It’s fibers are twisted rather than smushed together like most embroidery floss. This keeps the string from fraying to a minimum, and snapping the string is less likely. This string is a lot like DMC cotton pearl, but it’s a lot cheaper. You can get this string from Micheals. I also think it would help if you word on a good surface. Currently I’m using my string organizer box with a binder clip taped to the top, but I recently got a clip board. They both would work as a hard surface, that is also portable, and you also use less tape. I hope this helps 🙂

Is there a way to get craft cord that isnt dmc without going to michaels? In the philippines, michaels dont exist
