what size thread do you normally use to make your bracelets? (specifically dmc) and does it matter?

If you are talking about embroidery floss, it isn’t sized however DMC’s pearl cotton is. For pearl cotton I usually get size five because I can mix it with embroidery floss

There isnt really sized embroidery floss as far as i know, but different brands can have different thicknesses. Just be careful if your mixing thread brands, and check if there the same thickness before making your bracelet. If the sizes are too different, the bracelet can become wonky, the thinner thread can look really patchy and the thick thread might look to big, so just be careful 😊

if you get dmc embroidery floss, there aren't multiple sizes but they tend to be smaller in thickness than those big packs you get off amazon. if you want cotton pearl, size five is normally what i get but the knots do turn out smaller (at least for me). if you want their petra line, also get size five, but those knots turn out bigger than the cotton pearl. the size of the knots don't really matter for normal patterns but more for alpha patterns
