i assume you mean for normal patterns but if you want to do it with an odd number of base strings for an alpha, have the end of the final base string do the loop, then use it as a leading string!

I’ve never actually tried this but I’m pretty sure that you have to split one of the treads in half and then put it back together again after the loop. I would recommend watch the video above though for a clearer explanation.

ok, so i have an easy-ish way of doing it. i take my one separate odd string and i let it go over the half way point of my string a little. then, i start making my loop with the little tail of the single string hanging out. you can cut it off later.
