how do you convince your mom to buy more embroidery thread?

Maybe you can do something in the household to "earn" some money which she buys threads from for you. At your age that might still work.

When I was a kid every time I read one page I got a penny , It had to be books at your level I was a quick lerner and I read alot. You could some how try to convince your mom for a system like that, also one more thing every time you'd get paid for all the books you read that month you would be tested in my house. So no cheating lol

well, what i always do is tell her about all of these crazy-expensive threads, and then i would say that i found a great deal! let's take loops and threads as an example. its 4-5 dollars for a pack of 36 skeins. then think about dmc, which is so much more expensive. anyways, that's what i normally do.

I just kept on subtlety saying how I wanted to make her a bracelet but I didn’t have the right colors/enough string! Hope that helps!

happy to hear you got more colors! i usually just use up all of my good colors and show my mom my thread box and say something like "im out of good colors" LOL. i make bracelets for friends and relatives so she understands
