Complementary colors, or colors that are on opposite sides of the color wheel look nice. You could also use adobe color to help.

purple and yellow! depending on the shades you use you could get a few different vibes from it. lighter, could mean spring/easter colors. darker is usually somewhere in between punk and elegant, depending on how you use it. purple and yellow is just my favorite, but if you look at a color wheel try matching up colors opposing to eachother and you may find it a great way to find color combos!

I always love two different shades of colors, like one really light and the other darker. Teal and orange is a nice color combo, a good idea for when looking for 2 colors is to look at sports teams or college colors since there's usually 2.
