hi, so im making pattern #15136 and there's 7 base strings. i'm watching masha knot's alpha teardrop loop and she added a string in to her base string so i added a base string. so now i have 8 base strings. im onto the next step where it's the triangle ends and since you have to split the strings into half, i have 2,2,2,2. i feel as if my triangle ends are too short. Can i still make triangle ends with only 8 strings??

@annie_jin I’ve tried it before and it doesn’t show very much, as they’re pretty small, but you can make them still, it just won’t be super obvious 😊

You technically can, they triangles will just be very small. For a bracelet that thick I would recommend doing just one triangle, Masha also has a video on how to do a single triangle start/end for alphas (I would recommend the latest video on this as the technique is slightly better). Hope this helps 🙂

you can still do it but they will be very small, so i would do the loop an inch or shorter or it will look to big

You could either continue with the bracelet as/is and live with it not being perfect (not my first choice because I’m a perfectionist😂), or you could untie them and either try again and pay extra close attention to the tutorial or try a different technique for starting the bracelet. If you want to retry without having to untie all the knots you could just cut off the strings and reuse them, but then you would have to redo the loop as well.

@ginehring okay thank you so much!! ill just stick with my bad triangles because it's my first time making triangle ends so i guess it's ok. thanks again!

You could also try doing just one triangle end with all eight strings

@halokiwi I’m not sure how to do that for an alpha :/

Sorry, I forgot that you're trying to do a teardrop loop. My thought was that for such a small pattern a triangle end would be more fitting and I forgot that that's not what you want to do.

I think the teardrop loop technique for normal patterns would work well if you really wanted to make a teardrop loop. https://youtu.be/dPcpD-i2D0U

I think it looks better than the one she explains in this video https://youtu.be/5sW_MjWFF58 and I think it might work better too.
