I just got a bunch of really cool variegated thread for the first time! Does anyone have any tips for picking patterns that will look good with these colors?

using them in alphas as the leading string would be good. or as a background on a normal pattern. basically, i don’t have any specific pattern numbers, but if you just find a pattern you want to make and see what string is used the most, make that string your tie-dye/variegated string. i also recently made a wave pattern, i forget the pattern number but if you look on my pictures you’ll see it, with a blue variegated string. one of the transitioned too quickly, and the others didn’t, but it still looks cool.

Patterns like #26051 are perfect for variegated string.

Basically what works well are patterns with only three colours where there's a shape that's outlined with black on a plain background. Making the shape variegated looks nice.

They would look nice as a background color in a name bracelet or in the background of an alpha. You could make an ombre bracelet!
