I bought a large ball of white crochet string for alphas. I see now that it's just a little thinner than the regular floss I use. Not much, just a teeny bit.
I saw in a video tutorial on Alphas that you want to make sure the thread you use is all the same thickness so it won't throw your bracelets out of whack....
Since I am only using the slightly thinner string for the base strings, and not knotting with it, do you think it will be ok?

Sorry if this has been asked a bunch...

If it is for the base strings it should be fine, but your right, you shouldn't use different size string as the leading string.

It is fine for the base strings as long as you do not use them to knot.

As long as all of your base strings are the same size, even if they’re different from your knotting string, so long as you don’t knot with them it should be fine! I’ve been using a thicker crochet thread lately for my alphas and it’s worked beautifully!

crochet string is smart, thnx! I might grab some of that tomorrow along with lots of black floss (which I accidentally used up for the base strings of my first alpha lol)

Can I use wool/yarn for only my base string? 👍
