if you mean normal patterns then you look at the top of the pattern and they will have all the colors put in the right order and then you just have to follow how they put them. hope i helped

If you're talking about alpha patterns, which you read from the grid, check the tutorial section. Adik's got tutorials about two-color and multi-colored alphas.
