Ok so I know how long Chevron and candy stripe strings are but what about patterns and more complex patterns. Also how long do they take on average too?

I usually just measure the string from the tips of my fingers to the opposite shoulder, then I double that so I get two strands when I fold it in half. The time it takes to make then depends on your own knotting habits. For me it usually takes a day or two depending on the pattern. Hope this helps!

For me, unless its 8-14 strings, it takes me 2-3 days since i prefer thicker designs

I'm not sure if you are asking how long they take or how long the strings should be, but I can answer both:For simple bracelets like candystripe and chevron where all the strings do the same amount of knots you should take the length you want the bracelet to be, then multiply that by 4. Then you add in the length for the ties of the bracelet and give yourself some wiggle room in case you mess up. For other patterns, again, do the same thing as you would do with candystripe and chevron but add extra length for the strings that make the most knots. For how long it takes, that varys because different people have different techniques and overall speeds but here is a general key to how long it should take: 2-6 strings: 30m-2.5hrs 7-14 strings: 1hr-4hrs 14-20: 2hrs-6hrs 20+: 3hrs+ Remember that this is just average and if it takes you longer, there's nothing wrong with that. |

In terms of the length of the string, I recommend an arms length because it is better to have longer strings vs shorter strings. If you do end up with excess string, you can always save the scraps and use it in an alpha pattern.
