@mariababy2 when you add a string in an alpha you act like the string is already attached to the bracelet you are making and do a backwards or forwards knot depending on what way your row is. Sorry if it does not make sense. You can find a video on how to do this on YouTube it’s called Flat Alphas by Masha Knots. Hope this helped!

For an alpha, you just tuck the string that is too short behind all of the other strings, and put a new one behind the bracelet in it's place. You can make a knot with it and it'll automatically take the place of the other string. Just be careful that the knot fits nicely into place so that everything looks the same. You can sometimes use this technique for a normal pattern, or you could tie another string onto the one that's getting too short and be careful to hide the knots and small ends. That way is a lot more difficult, but do what you think is best
