Lol, sorry for the caps in the title 😂 But I simply must know! 🤣 What brand of threads do you prefer, and why? I've been on a quest trying to find the best threads. So far, my knowledge is still very limited. From my experience: 🌻🌻🌻 DMC: Pros: Many colors, affordable Cons: Frays too easily, small knots, narrow bracelets J & P Coats: Pros: Frays much less than DMC, thicker bracelets, brighter colors Cons: Pills a little bit while tying Anchor: Pros: Thick, hardly frays at all Cons: Not available in the US - have to order online, not available through Amazon usually Off-brand value pack from walmart: Pros: Super cheap Cons: The knots look a bit odd to me Loops and Threads: Pros: ?? Cons: ?? Le Paon: Pros: ?? Cons: ?? Please, fellow bracelet making friends, aid me on my quest 😂😂😂 kindly drop your threads here. What are your preferred brands? Brands you avoid? Why and/or why not do you like/dislike said brand? |

@stacey_135 Do you happen to know the specific brand that you order from Amazon? You know, for research 🤣

@knottahti I need to try that one! I keep hearing good things about it 😊 if it's better than DMC, I'm definitely down to try it.Not that I dislike DMC, but I consider it a mid-grade thread now that I've tried other stuff lol. |

@knottahti Thank you for the information! Now at least I have a good idea of what it's like, even though I've yet to try it myself 🙂

Honestly, I just look up thread on amazon and buy the first one I see. It works great and it’s cheap! I don’t really like prism because it snaps easily.

Oh wow, *knocks-on-wood*, I've never had a thread snap on me before. I'll definitely keep in mind that Prism is a no-no for sure - cool name for thread though, I'll give em that lol. Thank you for the info @unicorns14

Loops and tread is pretty good. Pros: they don't fray and is like twisted Con's: It doesn't have many color choices

I personally buy the ones from Walmart since its the closest but I don't think the knots look weird at all, the price doesn't matter tbh as long as you know what youre doing

I think they are all great but I just have a preference with DMC! I personally don’t think the knots are smaller that other brands bc I mix it with other brands! I have had no bad experiences with DMC

@ellephants DMC was my favorite brand,I still like them - especially how at Walmart and Michael's, I can pick out their many colors individually- that part is important for me. They're great too for making thinner bracelets, and the knots still look clean even if they fray while tying. It wasn't until I tried other brands that I found there were even better ones out there. For instance - I'm very rough with J & P Coat, and the only thing that happens is I can like tiny microscopic pills if I look very closely. If I treated my DMC that way, they'd all be frayed long before the end of the project lol! 😅 |

The only thing bad with loops and Threads is the color variety is the best

@amazingme I found a sunset variety pack by Loops and Threads - it has all the colors I use most with my patterns (light yellow, dark yellow, orange, red-orange, red, dark burgundy)Have you or anyone else used DMC before? If you have, how does loops and threads compare? It's a reaally low priced variety pack so I'm a little leery about getting it. |

I would just use DMC or J&P Coats since I have so much of them, but less than $5 for a large pack of sunset variety is such a good price for all of that. I guess since it's so cheap I should just try it myself 😅

My issue with DMC is that it has a tendency to fray and it's a bit too fragile for me. Loops and Threads is pretty solid and is what I use for all my bracelets. It seems shady for the cheap price, but it's worth it

@amazingme If Loops and Threads doesn't fray nearly as much as DMC does then that alone is enough of a reason for me to try them because I already love their colors lol.Would you say Loops and Threads make thicker or thinner bracelets than DMC or about the same? |
