How do you make your own pattern?

There should be a drop-down menu by your username in the right hand corner (if you're on the website). Go to create patterns, and you'll have the option of creating a normal pattern or an alpha (image or word) pattern.

You make patterns based on how the knots (f, b, fb, bf) are organized on the bracelet in relation to the strings. It helps to use graph paper to plan out your pattern first.

@Ry1108 you can only make patterns on the website, not the app unfortunately. on the website in the top left if you hover the mouse over your username, and then click create pattern. then you can click on create alpha or normal pattern. if you click on alpha, it will then have headings such as alpha from image, draw alpha, alpha from font. i would recommend draw alpha and you can add rows by clicking the + or - buttons. personally i havent made any normal patterns but i am hoping to soon. however i have heard that by searching for blank friendship bracelet templates, you can print one off and design it from there and then figure out which direction the knots would be and then importing it into the area were it has a ton of f's and b's. f is for forward knot and b is for backwards and fb is for forward backward and bf is for backward forward. the colours of string that you make the pattern with are labelled as a,b,c ect. but it only goes up to 26 colours and one of the rules for submitting patterns now is that the string order has to be the same at the start and at the bottom which can be difficult to work out dependng on the design you want to do. 😊
