Hi, I have made one alpha before. My friend has a birthday coming up and she has a Frenchie so I thought I could make her #22880 . Do you think it would be too difficult? And if I made it, how long would the base strings be? Thank you so much! 😊

Generally that is not that difficult of a pattern, but it depends on how confident you are with Alpha patterns and only you would know that. To get more familiar with Alpha patterns you could practice by doing patterns that have a small number of base strings and that uses 2 colours, so you get confident with colour changes and just the structure of an Alpha in general, and then start the pattern mentioned. As for the length of the base strings, you will need the wrist size length, with a little extra just to be safe, and then you will need another 2-4 inches for braiding. If you are making a loop you will need to double it. |

Thanks @Someone_ ! I forgot to say it was gonna be a key chain, sorry! I made #30408 , but I'll probably make one more alpha just to be safe. Thanks!

You're welcome! ❤️ If it's a keychain then the strings can be much shorter 🙂

I think it doesn't look too difficult. I think it's definitely doable even if you don't have much experience.I just watched one of @Margaron's videos https://youtu.be/MLw6N2T_NK8 and one of the advices is to use the second most common colour as your base string colour so you can use your basestring to make knots of that colour instead of adding a new leading string of that colour. I haven't tried it yet but it seems like it would make it a lot easier especially with a pattern like the one you want to do. |

Okay, thanks! I'll probably make them about a foot or so and fold them in half @Someone_

Hi, I'm sorry I have another alpha question. How do you turn an alpha? For the pattern I want to try, I wanted to make it a keychair, bt the dogs face would be to the side and not facing down. Does anyone know how to turn it? Thanks so so much
