It definitely depends on the brand. I got some cheap thread from Amazon and it was amazing, however some other string I got from Amazon were really bad. You basically have a 50/50 chance on Amazon when buying embroidery floss in my opinion. However, I strongly suggest buying DMC embroidery floss as I found that it is the most durable and you have a wide variety of color options to choose from. Hopefully this helps!!

Personally, I find that brands that give you the option of buying colors individually or in a pack are usually much better quality than brands that are available in a pack only. So if you find a brand on Amazon, but can't find a website where you can order that brand in individual colors, then I would suggest staying away from that brand. DMC is what I've been using, but I've been trying to order some by Anchor because I heard they're even better. I think DMC might have some value packs on Amazon too 🙂 |

embroidery thread comes quite cheap on amazon, and honestly its just about looking around and doing your research. take the rating and reviews into account. personally, i also like sets with three skeins of the same color, so when you finish one skein you still have that color. hope this helps! <3 |

i didn’t think i could trust amazon thread but i bought a pack from “le paon” when i was desperate for string and it is literally the softest strongest stuff i’ve ever used

I just bought a bulk pack of 240 skeins on amazon. I can’t remember the brand though. It will pop up if you look up 240 pack embroidery floss.

I bought the Lovimag brand on Amazon, came in a pack of 250 skeins. The quality was very good, comparable to DMC in my opinion. It also had a lot of colors, only a few repeats. So if you want a big color range it is a good idea, but if you want one with multiple of another color I would try to find a pack that is like that.

It depends on the brand. I am using an amazon brand right now that comes 150 threads. It is doing the job for me right now. I do recommend DMC also. Hope this helps!

I have found that amazon thread is definitely not as good. It gets the job done, but if you want professional looking bracelets I would definitely stick with DMC!

I have a special bulk back of string I buy about once every year or so. I find it to be better than DMC, but that's just my opinion. When buying bulk though, you have to realize you probably won't be able to find single skeins of the same brand. When I run out of colors from the bulk pack, I try and find a good match of the same color with DMC.

I would just say be careful, and try to research the brand before you buy it

I have gotten string from amazon before, just check the reviews because a lot I have seen recently for cheap say that they got less then it said or the colors were duller than said

I’ve gotten very cheap string, and it works just fine! I do prefer “fancier” brands though.
