Sorry I made another forum thread, but I wanna fix my issue. So I was attempting to make my first alpha pattern, #30408, but after a few rows it looks awful! The rows are lopsided, the base strings are visible, and many other issues. I even watched @raccon videos many times. Should I just not make alphas? Or what did I do wrong? Thanks!

@awesomelgk make sure to use strings of the same thickness. The only way to know they are the same size is to use the same brand of string. That will help with the uneven thickness in rows. You can also do the flat alpha technique. And straight edges. To fix your base strings being visible you can make sure to push the first half of your knot to the top of the row before it and then tie the second half. You can also try to tie the knots tighter. Hope this helps. Do you have any other questions?

I was trying the flat method, but I think I was doing it wrong and it was messing me up so I'm just gonna do it normal. I'm gonna take out the knots and try again. Tysm @taelor

You’re welcome! How were you doing the flat alpha technique? @awesomelgk

The only thing that can be a downside of not using the flat alpha technique is you might end up with a gap where strings don’t overlap causing a small hole

I had watched the flat video many times and I had it for a bit but then I started doing it wrong 😅 I think I'll just make sure I pull my knots very tight to avoid holes @taelor

@awesomelgk haha you’ll get it! Just make sure when you first start to not pull on the base string to hard!

Just keep trying! You need patience, imagine your dirt normal pattern, or first bracelet, they probably had just as many problems also try pushing your knots closer together and keeping the same amount of tension in all your knots

@awesomelgk sorry and sad reading your post. I don't know what went wrong making this pattern. Is a really easy one and it is also a picture of the pattern ( @Lotte1998 ) maybe is a good idea to ask her why yours was wrong 😢
