When making alphas, all the strings have to be the same size, but would it matter if the base strings are slightly thicker?

@beepboop_1 So in alpha patterns, you have a leading string (the string you knot with) and base strings (the strings you knot onto). If you want to do a loop or ties, you make them with the base strings. Did that make sense? If not, let me know, and I can try and explain it more in-depth

You should definitely watch a youtube video on that.I recommend Kinsey b or Masha knots! They both also have great content! |

To turn it into a bracelet if it is short on the wrist, continue to do foward knots and backward knots with your backgroung string

So imagine all the strings in a normal bracelet, but imagine them one color. Those are the base strings. You won’t see them anywhere in the alpha bracelet except the loop and ties. My a loop just like in a normal pattern out of the base strings. Then you make the alpha pattern. After you’ve made all the knots you want, secure the leading string and cut it off. Then all the base strings will be hanging there, and you can turn them into ties

Masha Knots has good videos on YouTube. One good one is called “alpha teardrop loop” — it’ll give more depth information on the loop. “How to read alpha patterns” will help with the actual bracelet. “Twisted ties” will show you how to make ties at the end of a bracelet.

@stacey_135 that should be fine, the base string won’t show through, but it might make the bracelet a little bulkier, depending on how much thicker the string is...
