in bracelets with the keyword shaped, a lot of the pictures at the bottom do not have the loose string? is there something i am missing?

Yes, this a “shaped bracelet” technique. I recommend you watch a video on it by Masha Knots if you want to make it.

If you know how triangle ends are made it's basically the same technique. MashaKnots has videos both on triangle ends and shaped bracelets.
