I know how to tie the knot at the beginning, but for the bigger bracelets some people do like some kind of loop thing...how do u do that?

Once you cut your strings, fold them in half and at the mid-point you make a larkshead knot with a string within the bracelet of the colour you want the loop to be. Starting on one side you alternate making fb&bf knots over all the strings in that half, you then flip it over to do the same on the other side. You then start the pattern in your desired way once the loop is your desired size.
This may be confusing, but MashaKnots has a good 'Basic Loops' tutorial that you can use for guidance, if this wasn't clear or if it was confusing.

If your bracelet has 12 strings instead of taking 12 strings you take 6 strings that are double as long and fold them in half. You take one of your strings and do bf or fb knots around all other strings where they are folded. A bit like the Chinese staircase bracelet if you're familiar with it.

If you're happy with the size of your loop you can just start your bracelet however you like. You can for example do triangle ends.

If you have an even number of strings, make sure to make the color you want for the loop string a bit longer than the others. Once you cut an even number of strings, you fold them in half. Then you find the center. Once you do that, with your long string you do continuous forward backward knots.
You can also look up a video/youtube tutorial! 👍
