Hi, everyone, as a quarantine project, I am learning alpha patterns. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to do the edges like #24787 where it switches colors on the edge? I watched Masha's video but I am a bit confused. I am just starting out on alphas, but i've loved the look of that pattern for very long. Could someone with alpha experience explain strategies?

@ecote8 I don't have much experience with alphas but are you doing the straight edges technique for alphas? And could you maybe post the pattern, because the one you linked here isn't an alpha 😇

You can't do the colour switching technique you'd do for the flat alpha technique right at the edge. What you need to do is fold the string behind the bracelet and switch colour then. You don't fold it in front of the bracelet and then back. You just fold it back. I think in her first alpha videos before the flat alpha video she explains this technique.

Since there are only two colours you can use a different technique. Your basestrings need to be the colours of the leafs. Instead of taking a new leading string you take the basestring and make a knot on the leading string to make a green knot.
