I have been using tape but find you need to put a piece sticky side up, lay your strings on it and tape over that with a long piece and add an extra above it. If I don’t do a piece face up the same thing happens to me.

I usually make triangle ends on my alpha bracelets so I tie a knot a few inches from the top of my base threads(for the ties) and then clip the knot under my clipboard. then make the triangle end and do the bracelet. after I am done I untie the knot and make twisted ties. if I am doing a keychain that is double sided I clip an inch or so under the clipboard and then use a few pieces of tape after the clip to secure it extra. if im only making a one sided keychain I just use a lot of tape. I also just use a lot of tape for a wall hanging, but ive found that I don't really like taping things to a table, so I just tape it to my clipboard

I usually take a safety pin, pin it trough the knot or loop and secure it to my blanket, hoodie, pants, pillow etc.
