If you go to any alpha pattern on the website there's a tutorial video linked. Idk if it's also linked on the app but here's the linkhttps://youtu.be/_YVFAX9sacw Basically you read them row by row. In the rows where the arrows point to the right you do forward knots from the left to the right and in the rows where the arrows point to the left you do backwards knots from the right to the left. In an alpha pattern you have basestrings and a leading string. The basestrings are the strings you make knots on. The leading string is the string you make knots with. The colour of the leading string determines the colour of the knot. If you want to switch to a different colour you put the old leading string behind the bracelet and put a new leading string in its place and continue knotting with this string. |

When a new color is added, like when it sticks out from the side in the new row, is it already in the group with all the other strings or do you actually have to add it? Sorry if this question didn't make sense

I may have misunderstood your question but when a new colour is added to an alpha bracelet you must actually knot a new piece of string onto your base thread. Hope that helps 🙂

Hi, I'm going to make my first alpha, #30408 , very soon. How long should I cut the strings? I don't want it to be too short. Thanks!!

@awesomelgk since it's really small your basestrings don't need to be super long. If you make them 15 cm long you're definitely on the save side. I think that's already way too long. The leading strings you only need to cut when you're done. |
