i want to try the straight edges technique but i don't understand it

not sure how well I can explain it but the main idea is that when you’re knotting, for the knots all the way to the left and right of the row (the edges) you use backward-forward knots (left side) and forward-backward knots (right side) instead of whatever is in your pattern

you can do the straight edges technique on a normal bracelet but also an alpha bracelet.normal: You add an extra string on each side of the bracelet. in the rows where there is normally no knot using the original outer strings you make a bf knot with the original outerstring on the extra string on the left side and a fb knot on the right side. alpha: on the basestring on the left edge you do a bf knot and on the right side a fb knot |

You could look up on YouTube masha knots is the best at explaining the straight edges style but its simple on the left it would be a forwards backwards knot and a backwards forward not on the right every time. I hope I helped
