How do you know how many base strings need for your alpha bracelets?

You can either count the strings that stick out on top of the pattern or you just look at the dimensions. The dimensions tell you how many knots there are in a row and how many rows there are. The amount of knots in a row is the same as the amount of the basestrings because you make a knot onto every basestring.
