I understand the knots and the color and the strings and all, but do you do it knot by knot, or row by row? For example A B A B A B A B A B Would I go, A B, or A A A A A then B B B B B? |

All patterns alpha or normal are read and knotted left to right. So if you are reading a normal pattern and your strings look like this: A B C A B C You would knot A&B together C&A together and B&C together. Then you would go to the next row down and tie the innermost strings of the previous row together so: B&C, A&B The outermost strings don't make knots every other row. So the next row you'll want to introduce them again: A&B, C&A, B&C I hope that helps explain it a little. |
