You rank up being active and contributing to the community. So posting pictures, chatting in the chat, posting here in forums, adding a variation, etc. The more you rank up, the more difficult it is to reach the next rank.

@ally_love you go to the pattern you want to post a picture of. In the app there's a plus, on the website there's "add a photo". You click it and then upload your picture. The picture won't instantly appear on the page. It needs to be approved first.
