How many strands should my strings be?

I'm doing my first alpha and it's going well except it seems to be really big despite me pulling it tight, is this because my strings are too big?

I'm using 6 strand duchess string for pattern #25002. My knots are pretty neat as far as I'm aware it's just consistently really wide 😅

I've not heard of that brand/type of string. Is it some sort of yarn? Thicker strings produce larger knots which will make the bracelet wider than if you used a smaller type of string. If the bracelet itself is consistent, and looking the way you want then you aren't doing anything wrong so I wouldn't worry too much. 🙂 |
