When you are first cutting the strings for your alpha bracelet, on the pattern part look at the little white lines sticking out of the very top. For example, pattern #34178 has 10 base strings. If you are talking about adding strings to the bracelet after you already started, I cut the amount of strings I still need in the bracelet and tie them to the top, where the knot is, then they hang down to where all the rest of the strings are. Then when I start tying in the string(s), after a few rows I cut the top part off of the string, and add a bit of glue to the back of th bracelet where I started typing it in to secure it. Hope this helps!❤️ Ostie ❤️ |

Not sure exactly what you mean, but I'll have a go:If you're starting the Alpha, all you do is tape down the amount of base strings you need, and with the leading string you make forward knots to start, working horizontally (if you're starting with a straight edge.) Or if you're starting any other way, you do as you need to. If you mean, that one of your base strings is broken, or getting too short. You can replace the broken/short one. To do that, you to tape the new base string(s) down behind the bracelet, and make whichever knots you need to do over both the short/old string and the new string. Try make a minimum of 6 rows if you can before then folding the short/old string back behind the bracelet so it's out of the way. And then you continue knotting, as you normally would. Whilst making knots over the two strings, it might seem a bit wobbly or unstable at first, but that's normal. |
