Adding more string to my base strings in alpha’s

I need help! Currently I’m trying to make and alpha, but my base strings have gotten too short. I’m not sure if I should just quit the alpha and make new. Is there a way to add string to the short base strings?

I'd do it the same way you'd add a new leading string. Fold the old one back and put the new one in its place. But idk if it will look good. I've never tried it.

You could do what Halokiwi said, but like them I haven't done it that way.Another way you could do it is to tape the new base string(s) down behind the bracelet, and make whichever knots you need to do over both the short/old string and the new string. I would make a minimum of 6 rows (if you can) before then folding the short/old string back behind the bracelet so it's out of the way. And then continue knotting, as you normally would. Whilst making those knots over the two strings, it might seem a bit wobbly or unstable at first, but that's normal. |
