So I find that even when I do the straight-edge technique on alphas, the sides tend to curl up. Do you tend to make the sides of your bracelets loose or tight for alphas?

I tend to make mine the same tension as the rest of the row. I tie my knots for Alpha's inbetween tight and loose. Maybe you could be tying yours too tight and that's why its curling up? Try experiment with your tension. It also helps to hold the base string straight down when making the knots, especially on the edges.

I have to same issue. I find pinning the bracelet straight using a wide office clip or using a lot of tape to secure it down completely flat whilst I'm knotting helps a lot.

Alternatively, you can iron the bracelet under parchment paper on low heat to flatten it out- I do that anyway even if the bracelet comes out straight!

I like the flat alpha technique, it tends to work better for me, so I don’t really use that method but I think maybe you are making the knots tighter on the edges than the rest of the pattern... maybe try to make them the same tension? I hope this helped!
