I can make a teardrop loop to start my bracelet but then my strings are all out of order. Is there any clean, pretty way to start a bracelet with all of the strings in order? I have looked at and read so many tutorials on triangle starts but I can’t figure it out - probably because I make my bracelets row by row and don’t do segment knotting. Any help is appreciated.

i usually start my bracelet with a triangle end, i make sure to lay my strings out i order so they don't get mixed up, i understand that it can be tricky, but as you practice you will eventually get better. i know you said that you have had no luck with youtube tutorials, if you haven't already i recommend masha knots' video on triangle ends, its how i learned.if you have any more questions please ask! ❤️ |

Well then it is a little bit more complex, for my normals I just tape my strings down in order and make my bracelet row by row. When I finish I just twist and tie up the the leftover string on the ends. There are helpful tutorials on YouTube but as you said, they can be a bit hard to execute. It will take a while for you to figure out how you like to make your bracelets, we all develop our own ways of making patterns. I hope this answers your question ❤️ |

Start by deciding where in the pattern you want to do your shaped start. I recommend drawing that start into a screenshot so you can more easily see the order of strings you need for that start. When you tie the v-shape after the loop part, you have to bring the strings into that order. It should not matter that you knot row-by-row instead of segment-knotting. You just need to keep in mind that you are not starting out with complete rows, if you do a shaped start.

So after I make the triangle shape, do I start making the bracelet row by row under where the triangle point ends?

@mkcarrinoYou said you were doing a teardrop loop. That's typically a loop and then a v-shaped start. You can of course also do a loop and a triangle start. After you made the edge of whichever shape you decide to do (v or triangle or something else), you make the inside of that shape. If you have a triangle start, you do the inside of the triangle. If you have a v-shaped start, you do the two half triangles on the left and the right. You can do the inside row by row like you usually would. You just have to keep in mind that these rows are shorter than usually because they are 'missing' knots. After you did the inside, you can continue knotting your bracelet row by row like usual. |
