You can use the other end of your leading string as the first base string.

How do you knot it to the clip hook?

With a larks head knot like all the other base strings. Once end has the same length as the other base strings and the other end is your leading string.

Let's say you have a keychain with 11 base stringsFor 10 base strings, you can take 5 strings, fold them in half and attach attach them to your keyring. I like to do larks head knots. For the 11th base string, take the leading string. Fold it so that one end has the same length as the base strings. Attach it to the keyring the same way you attached the folded base strings. |

I had a typo in my previous message. Please ignore the confusion. "With a larks head knot like all the other base strings. One end has the same length as the other base strings and the other end is your leading string." I accidentally wrote "once" instead of "one" |
