I am kind of new. Sorry if someone already asked this question.

If under "Dimensions" it says "3x10", does that mean that there are three strings, 10 inches in length for each?

Dimensions are the amount of knots.

3x10 means 3 knots per row and 10 rows. In a normal pattern this would be 6 or 7 strings, in an alpha 3 base strings.

If you want to calculate string length for normal patterns, here are two tutorials:

To calculate the string length in alphas, you need to look at the amount of rows. If you've made an alpha before, you can calculate how long a certain amount of rows is. The base strings need to be that length plus some extra for loops, ties etc. The leading strings you can just leave on the skein and cut in the end.
