Is there a way to search the forum to see if someone has already asked my question?

I have a question about using and saving the pattern maker.I just made a simple pattern and I saved it, but I did not write down the number and am not sure if I can find it. Also It did not have and row numbers on it. If there is a tutorial on how to use the pattern maker I would like to use it. Thanks! |

Hi, many questions you have, many answers you will get 😉First answer: There is no search button on the forum, but you can use a little trick: in the google search bar you enter 'site:braceletbook.com/forum/' and whatever you are searching. This should give you some results. Second answer: Did you save the pattern or did you submit the pattern. If you saved the pattern, it should still be where you left it, in the generator: https://www.braceletbook.com/create/ If you submitted it, it will be reviewed by a moderator. You can only see the pattern again after it was reviewed. It will either be accepted. Then you can find it on your profile. Or it will be declined. Then you can find it back in the generator with a message attached to it why it was declined. Third answer (actually just more questions): Are you trying to design an alpha or a normal pattern? Which part of the generator do you want to use? Is there something specific you don't understand? My recommendation is to play around with the generator for a bit, experiment with the different features and see what the generator can do. For normals I recommend playing around with 'interactive normal' and for alphas with 'draw alpha'. |

"17 hours ago by halokiwiHi, many questions you have, many answers you will get 😉" Thank you for the humor! I am in the right place. First answer: There is no search button on the forum, but you can use a little trick: in the google search bar you enter 'site:braceletbook.com/forum/' and whatever you are searching. This should give you some results. Second answer: Did you save the pattern or did you submit the pattern. "If you saved the pattern, it should still be where you left it, in the generator: https://www.braceletbook.com/create/ If you submitted it, it will be reviewed by a moderator. You can only see the pattern again after it was reviewed. It will either be accepted. Then you can find it on your profile. Or it will be declined. Then you can find it back in the generator with a message attached to it why it was declined." I have only saved the pattern. It is an Alpha heart shape and there are many similar patterns but I wanted a more narrow one for a keychain using less base strings to fit the holder (if that makes sense). I wanted to make it and then possibly submit it. My search for a simple heart did not show what I needed in the results. "Third answer (actually just more questions): Are you trying to design an alpha or a normal pattern? Which part of the generator do you want to use? Is there something specific you don't understand?" I do not understand....a lot! Right now my pattern just looks like a drawing on graph paper. I can use it, but lacks the row numbers and direction arrows for the alpha pattern. When do those show up, or do I need more experimenting to get those? "My recommendation is to play around with the generator for a bit, experiment with the different features and see what the generator can do. For normals I recommend playing around with 'interactive normal' and for alphas with 'draw alpha'." Thank you again. Is this number actually the number of the pattern or is it the number of the one that was originally there that was black and red and said ALPHA? Draw alpha pattern #4211509 |

Glad I could help 😄Here are some more answers regarding the questions about the generator. On the first page of the generator, you can see the knotting instructions, not just the graph. The knotting instruction is just some additional visualisation. It is not actually needed to tie the pattern. When you create a new pattern in the generator, it will receive a number. This number is just counting the how maniest pattern it is that was created in the generator. This number will stay the same no matter how many changes you make or how long you keep it in the generator. If you submit your pattern and it gets declined, this number will be the one mentioned in the decline notification. Only when the pattern gets accepted it will get a new number. Then the number will show the how maniest pattern it is that was accepted. |

@halokiwi Once again thank you for your help. The pattern is showing up just like all the others now. The reason that I designed it was so that it could be knotted vertically and have the loops at the top of the heard and not at the side of the heart when made as the knotting pattern shows. It looks great to be knotted horizontally, but my desire for a keychain, not a bracelet is to have it made with the start at the top.I am definitely a newbie in using this. Is there a way to switch the horizontal and vertical knotting set up? 🤔 🙈 |

I found another pattern like the one I made but it is also made to build horizontally. I will not be submitting my design since it is almost the same as number 3296. I will be experimenting more.

The generator picks the least amount of base strings automatically. If you want to switch the direction of the base strings in the knotting instruction, you can only do so by adding extra rows that will switch the proportions of the pattern around. In general you don't need to follow the knotting instructions when knotting the pattern. You can just tie it based on the preview in whatever orientation you like. |

I have a question that might sound stupid but how do you all get the bracelets to look so tight, mine come out looking loose and idk what I’m doing wrong, I am tying them tightly

@CCampbelll consistent tension is key. Make sure that you pull all your knots tight enough. Pull the first half tight before tying the second half. The first half determines the placement, the second half secures it in place. |
