does anybody know how to make a bracelet straight? everytime i try to make a bracelet the edges/sides of the bracelets usually turn out wavy and curved even if it’s super simple. can anybody help?

Привет! Я совсем недавно плету браслеты, но имею один способ для того, чтобы браслет был прямым
Многие закрепляют нити скотчнм, кто-то не акрепшяет и на планере. Т.к. у меня нет планера, я взяла твердую доску для лепки и металлический зажим среднего размера, изредка использую маленький зажим для крепежа определенных нитей при плетении петельки. Так вот, каждый раз, когда я сплету больше, чем 1 сантиметр, я увожу браслет под зажим, оставляя у края ту часть, кторая не сплетена(а я плету шевроном, поэтому при 10+ струнах остаток немалый😵). В общем, это мне помогает в том, чтобы браслет был ровным. Также важно следить за одинаковой наьянутостью узлов и одинакгвым расстоянием нити, которая иногда появляется между узлами(в основном крайними)

I can second that using a clip and moving the bracelet up while knotting will help immensely.

In addition to that, you can try using the straight edges technique and for alphas the flat alpha technique in addition to that. In normals you can try knotting row by row instead of segment-knotting. It will be slower but the bracelet will be easier to keep straight.

masha knots has a really good video on it to summarize it you add a stringe and do back word forward knots on it and forward backward knots on the other side

When I do normal bracelets, I try and keep the knots going inwards when it won't change the pattern. By inwards I mean like in a regular chevron, all the knots are forward on the left and backward on the right. This is mostly effective when knotting two of the same color strings. As an example, I just did pattern #87537. The edges of this pattern are all the same color, and instead of doing the knots outward like in the pattern, I switched the direction to be towards the center. This won't work with all patterns, but I have found the balance of knot direction will make the bracelet straighter. 😄 ❤️
