What direction to pull the knots in???

Once you've done the knot and are pulling up to secure what direction do you pull in? I've seen videos that pull the string left or right depending on the type of knot and others that just pull up the center regardless? Which is the best way?

I think different ways probably work well for different people. I would recommend trying out what works best for you.

Many beginner's guides advise to always hold the strings vertically, so you hold the base string down and pull the working string up with every knot, but what I noticed works better for me is when I make the first half of a knot pulling the string up, and for the second half I pull them to the sides (right before making the knot so the base string doesn't pop through to the front).I'm not sure if it works for other people, but anyway you'll need to experiment with different ways to find out what produces the best results for you. |

i pull the first knot to the left and the second one to the right if i am moving left to right. ie pattern #1
