I love making bracelets but have always been scared of alphas. I'm trying my first one today and want to make the pattern #122154. Is there a way to estimate how long it would be?

I would say to just go for it and find out after you complete it. You’ll get a good idea of how long you want your next one to be and it’s okay to make mistakes your first time. Everybody has different wrist sizes and preferences and personally I think 73 rows is a decent size if you don’t mind it being a bit loose.

I also have a question about this. How long should be my base strings for a 71 rows pattern, #41842 ?

Start with the length of one of your already made bracelets and then add like six inches so you don’t run out and also so you have something to hold onto well tying knots when u get to the end of the bracelet

@Alicia0214 you can wrap the base strings around your wrist and then made sure they’re long enough to make ties at the end. Personally I’ll make mine about 40 cm long.

Such a good choice of pattern. The gauge for bracelet length is very hard to estimate unless you know your tension well. The way everyone knots is different and the tightness/looseness of the knots can cause your bracelet to be shorter, elongated, more narrow, etc. I would say just go for it and pleasure how long a certain amount of rows is and, if your tension is pretty consistent, that should give you a gauge if your bracelet lengths for the future. Hope this helps 🙂
