You tie the knots the same way u do with normal patterns, but instead of all the strings making up the pattern, you just have base string you make the knots onto, moving back and fourth through the rows. There is one difference on *some* alpha knots. If its the first knot in a color change the you tie the first half of the knot (each knot is technically made of two knots so you tie the first one) then take the string that you were just using on your base strings and cross it over then tie the second half. If you didn't do this then sections would have gaps between them but this way they are interconnected. Otherwise (I'm not sure who it was I didn't catch their name) whoever explained it earlier in this topic is 100% correct.
