There are always multiple ways how you can start a pattern. Do you want to do a specific start that you don't know how to do?The pattern is very long, so if you want to make a bracelet, my recommendation would be to leave out the first and last 5 rows. This way the pattern only has 85 rows which would be perfect for an alpha bracelet. I personally would leave enough string for ties and then start tying the pattern in a straight row without doing some special start. Once you tied the complete bracelet, you would just do two braids on either side as the ties. If you add triangle ends or anything else, the pattern would probably get too long again. Have you tied an alpha pattern before? If not, I can recommend MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique. She explains it very well. |

In her video, MashaKnots explains how to do colour switches.Here is a link: https://youtu.be/_YVFAX9sacw In an alpha pattern, you have base strings (those are the vertical strings) and leading strings (the strings that make the knots). If you want to make a knot in a different colour, you switch to a different leading string. The unused leading strings that don't currently make knots are hidden behind the bracelet. |
