Okay so I have been doing bracelets at camp for years now and I have recently started getting into more difficult patterns but I’ve noticed I can get messed up sometimes. I wonder if it’s because I’m reading a pattern and doing it in a chevron format if that makes sense, like I’m following the pattern but the triangles rather than rows and I wonder if that matters and I can only do that if there is a certain number of knots? I don’t know if I explained that well but if you know can you tell me?

I did this for the longest time as my form of segment knotting! It definitely doesn't matter in the sense of reading the pattern. The only thing I'd recommend to keep things in order is to take a screenshot of the pattern and then mark it up on your phone to see what knots you've done and such. Row by row is a method I use on thicker bracelets but it takes a lot longer. However I find it to keep the pattern more true to what it looks like especially when there's diamonds and such involved. I hope this helped!

Thank you so much!!! That’s what I was thinking bc when I thought it through I was like “but it should work”. I probably just got confused. I’m so glad you understood what I was trying to say!
