Hi, I’m very confortable doing alpha and i want to go back to normal pattern. I watched a lot of tutorial, but I still don’t understand how to use this technique while segment knotting (to one that you add two strings). Can someone help me?Thx 😇 |

Just like you would when segment-knotting any other normal pattern. If it is difficult to imagine for you how it would work, I recommend either drawing the pattern on a piece of graph or in the normal pattern generator and adding the straight edges there. Then you can use that pattern top draw in the segments in your drawing or on a screenshot of the pattern in the generator. Only one extra knot is added to either side, so most of the pattern stays exactly the same and won't be segment knotted much different than usual. |

what I do to understand how to add the staight edges to a pattern is when looking at the pattern on here, you'll se that at the edges every other row has a knot while on the rows that there isn't, the string is just on an angle. For example if you look at #144429 on the left edge on row 1 there is a red knot, then on row 2 the white string has no knot but it is in angle, changing direction, and this repeats through the pattern. When adding the straigt edges, you'll treat these changes of direction as if they were knots you have to make on the strings that you added at the edges. So for row 1 of #144429 you would do the same knots that the pattern says but on row 2 you'd add a white backward-forward knot at the beggining and a white forward-backward knot at the end, on row three you would do what the pattern says and on row 4 you'd do as in row 2... I don't know if this makes sense, i hope it does! |

I forgot to say, but if you see the pattern this way you can just segment knot as you would normally

I would HIGHLY recommend going into the generator and remaking the pattern so it has the straight-edge side knots. You'll be able to follow along easily when you make the bracelet and it'll help make the concept make sense.
