When making a forward knot can you use just two strands?

Okay @Zegit88 🙂 I think I understand.I think you would really like making a Chinese staircase or a Chinese ladder 🙂(I'm not sure if there's another word for them, but that's what I've seen them called in youtube videos 🙂) They're basically forward knots over and over, but you use many strings for the middle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2n5CNBbpqm4 I wanna say we have a pattern that you can upload photos of these two, I just can't remember at the moment and need to look for it 🙂 |

As far as only using two threads, I'm not sure how it would work as I've never tried it, and we don't have bracelets on here that are only two strings 🙂 but if you only want to use two, I recommend trying out using a thick one for the "middle" and using a super long one that's thinner for the "outside" if that makes sense 🙂

Like, you can actually do this with headphones with a wire, I actually did that before and it turned out nicely 😄You could always experiment too, maybe you could use two strings of the same size if they're large? I'm not sure, but you probably could! 🙂 |

A three-string staircase/ladder video like these? 🙂 Or a bracelet pattern in general that only uses three? 🙂 @Zegit88

You can put as many or as few strings in the middle of the example above, to make a thin one, you could probably just use two strings in the middle, and one on the outside, but making it thinner could make it more difficult, but I don't know, only way to know is to try 🙂

Here are some nice 3 string bracelet patterns: #680 This one is almost same as pattern #1 which has tutorials to follow 🙂 #681 #2006 pattern #2 is also a nice beginner bracelet 🙂 That's the one I personally started with! |

@Tikilishi I prefer video tutorials they are easier for me to follow as I'm autistic and have learning difficulties.

#1 is a super good pattern to begin with, and you can change it to 3 strings if you want, there's videos on the site if you scroll down to the bottom of the page.#2 also has nice videos to follow. I just wanted to let you know that less strings doesn't always mean a bracelet will be easier to tie! 🙂 I personally find bracelets in the 12 to 24 string range to be easier than a pattern with only 3 strings, but I can keep looking for one that has a video if you want. 🙂@Zegit88 |

Here are two patterns that each only use three strings that have videos posted to them: #3982 #155910I personally would recommend #3982. It's called the zipper bracelet and very easy. And here are patterns with four strings that have videos: #12089 #12127 #83996 I recommend #12089. It's a candystripe with only four strings. But I can only agree with @Tikilishi: less strings does not mean it's easier. Don't be afraid to start with a bracelet with more strings. I'd recommend up to 8 strings. That's still fairly small, but you can already experience the structure of a bracelet. |
