hello! ive been making bracelets for a while but just started again after a long break. i really like alphas so have been making some word bracelets for myself and my friends. i am practicing the flat alpha technique where you incorporate the old leading strand into the new leading strand’s knot, following masha knots’ video, but the resulting color-switch knot ALWAYS ends up smaller than the knots around it and its driving me insane. i guess its just because the other color’s thread is inside the knot and therefore both halves of the knot arent together? idk if that makes sense. is there anything wrong with just doing the regular alpha method bc this is driving me nuts. or am i doing the flat alpha method wrong

I think you’re just pulling the knot too tight. It happens, to me too-I think that the string is going to make the flat alpha bigger so then I pull super tight and it ends up too small. Just try not to pull the second half of the knot too tight. Hope this helps!

I personally have never used the flat alpha method, and the regular method works just fine for me. Just note that your bracelets will no longer be "flat", but that will be the only difference, they still look amazing imo 😄
