What brand of yarn or like those bulk white strings thats the same thickness as embroidery floss? I want to make alpahs but I dont want to use my embroidery floss as the string that just go straight down I would think for me I dont want to waste it

You can use crochet thread for the base strings, for example dmc Petra size 5.
I think that is the correct size. If I'm mistaken, please correct me.

The base strings don't need to be white btw. You can use any colour you like.

@dc_01 For alphas, 12 rows = about an inch, but add some extra length for starts and ends. For normals, @halokiwi has a great tutorial on how to calculate string in the tutorials section. Hope this helps!

I’m pretty sure it’s just normal embroidery floss but I could be wrong. It just looks like a really big skein of embroidery floss.
