Yes I had those same ridges and as @AlmaLlama said you should try the straight edge technique it help me a lot and I hope this helps you too!

You should definitely try to use the straight edges technique! You can find a helpful video on how to do it on Youtube by MashaKnots! It might be a tad confusing at first but with practice it becomes second nature and really makes a difference in your bracelets!
