I am currently making an alpha keychain using the flat alpha technique. I am trying my best to tighten the knots equally, and pull in a consistent direction. Some of the knots are so small you can barely see them, but some are just so big! What should I do?

My advice is just to practice, practice and practice! But as an extra tip I also recommend using a ruler (or a book) after finishing a row to adjust and straight up your knots. But don't forget, practice is also very important, so don't feel discouraged if you're alphas aren't perfect from the first couple of tries, nobody makes perfect bracelets! 😊

It's also important to try and make sure all the thread that you're using for your leading thread is of similar thickness. Ideally, even all from the same brand.

try to maybe pull out the knot a little- if the makes sense. Like once you tie it and move the color to the side, get a pair of tweezers or something and pull the string n top of the knot to fluff it up a little. While it is tedious its a good temporary fix but over time you'll master it with practice!

lots of practice! also slow down and really try to get the same tension. i found when i started i would pull really tight (until strings snapped) and did it really fast so slowing down and mindfully making each knot so it looks good 🙂

Make sure all your leading strings are the same, or very similar size to each other, and it’s okay if you use different base strings. And not sure what kind you’re using but I notice embroidery floss is easier to knot with and you want to tie tight but not too tight. And of course practice, some techniques you’ll figure out without even thinking.

First, make sure all your strings are of the same brand! Once you have, make sure that you are using a consistent technique and strength for you backwards and forwards knots! Try to make sure each knot is made the same way and when the same amount of control! Also, right after making the knot, check to see if it's bigger or smaller than the rest! If so, untie it and experiment until it is equal in size. Hope this helps you!
