So when I make normal bracelets my edges don’t go as straight as some of the pictures I see on other people’s bracelets, what could I do to fix the edges and make them straighter?

there’s a straight edge technique by adding a string on the side and doing backward and forward knots. masha knots has a good tutorial on it!

@emilyjac for each side of an alpha, you do a fb or bf knot to make the sides straight instead of just doing a forward or backward knot.
This is the link for masha knots' and kinseyb's tutorial, it really helped me 😊 (and some extra tutorials)

As @Rowsitt said before, the straight-edges technique may help you. This is a link to Masha Knots' tutorial on YouTube on how to make this technique in detail:

If your pattern isn't suitable for the straight-edges technique, you can still keep your edges relatively straight. Curled edges occur when you have uneven knot tension, which is pretty common in asymmetrical bracelets (imagine a candystripe curling in the direction of its stripes). If you pay attention to the direction your bracelet is curling and do your best to compensate for unevenness, you'll end up with a straighter bracelet, even if it isn't perfectly straight. I've also had a little success with stretching bracelets, though this is less effective if your knots are densely packed and not loose.
