I have tried to research this but I can’t find the answer anywhere. I want to make alpha keychains and came across d shape clips. Brilliant, except they have 1/2 inch to full inch. Around how many base strings should I expect to fit on 1/2 inch and how many to fit on full inch? Say if my base line is 20 strings. How do u know how thick it will be as a beginner? Obviously the more strings the wider. But using embroidery floss what typically fits a 1/2 inch ring? And what fits 1 inch ring? Best guess doesn’t have to be exact.

@CkCrafts4 I’ve done alphas on both 1 inch and 1/2 inch d shaped key rings. The 1 inch ones I’ve done 20-21 string alphas on them and the 1/2 inch ones I would say up to 10 or 11 strings. Hope that helps.
