Is it possible to start a normal pattern with the alpha bookmark pattern by making adjustments? I don't like to make my creations as bracelets because I know I won't wear them. Any alternatives that will allow me to turn them into bookmarks instead?

Which alpha bookmark pattern do you mean? Do you mean a specific method to make an alpha bookmark or do you mean an actual pattern.

It should definitely be possible to make bookmarks from normal patterns.

Here is an example

I was actually wondering if a bookmark start like this was possible for normal patterns: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/alpha-pattern-43206--807340670693514374/

it is possible to do it like in your second link, I've done it on #137141 but I made it up so I'll do my best to explain it.
1. make a loop like you would for a teardrop loop and make it smaller than normal.
2. split the strings like you would for a double triangle start, but make the inside bundles smaller.
3. tie the inside bundles like you would for a normal triangle start.
4. for the outside ones, tie them so that the strings are in the order they are at the top of the pattern (the ones with the letters on them) instead of slanted like normal
5. it would be best to segment knot a pattern like this, but if you want to do it row by row you can, but there will be a triangle in the center of the design for the first few rows.

I wouldn't recommend this if you are a beginner, bc you need to know how to do teardrop loops, triangle starts, etc..

if you wanted to do smth simpler without the loop you could tie all the strings onto another string using a lark's head knot, but this would only work if the first and last strings of the pattern were the same, and you would have to double up on the strings, which would make the bracelet thicker.
