How many strings for a bordered chevron?

Iโm trying to make a bordered chevron bracelet with 5 colours, and I want the border to be the same as one of those 5 colours. How many strings of each colour do I cut and what length?The tutorial I was watching said to cut two strings of each colour (meaning 10 strings) and then to fold them all in half, which would end up as 20 strings. That doesnโt sound right?? Also, how many strings would I need to cut for the border? |

I would say 1 string of each color (you would fold it in half to make 2) but 1 of the colors you would cut an extra, so when you fold it in half you would have a total of 12 strings, 2 of each color and an extra of one to use as the border. hope this helps ๐

Pattern #20800 is the pattern for the bordered chevron with 5 colours on the inside. I know, you probably don't need it anymore, but looking at the pattern can sometimes be useful.
